Honored by the presence of H.E. Hem Vanndy and H.E. Derek Yip, SAM INSPIRE successfully orchestrates another national milestone of Pong Ro Water Treatment Plant Inauguration Event Success.
Fresh from the momentum of our involvement in the Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) opening ceremony, SAM INSPIRE is proud to announce the successful conclusion of our latest high-profile project: the Official Inauguration Ceremony of the Pong Ro Water Treatment Plant.
Held on January 21, 2026, in the remote Ruessie Laor Village, this event marked a significant leap forward in Cambodia’s clean water infrastructure. We are humbled to report that the event was executed flawlessly, earning high praise from both the organizing committee and the distinguished VIP guests in attendance.

Hosting high-level dignitaries requires military precision, cultural grace, and logistical mastery. Here is a look behind the scenes at how we delivered on the vision.
1. Distinguished Guests & High Protocol
The event was presided over by H.E. HEM Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, H.E. Derek Yip, Ambassador of Australia to the Kingdom of Cambodia and Mr. Nguon Reasey, Deputy Governor of Kampong Thom Province.
Managing protocol for both a National Minister and a Foreign Ambassador requires strict adherence to diplomatic standards. Our team ensured:
- Seamless Arrivals: Precise coordination for the 8:40 AM arrival of the VVIP motorcades.
- Ceremonial Flow: Flawless management of the National Anthem tribute and the official Ribbon Cutting ceremony, utilizing our trained ushers in traditional Khmer attire.
- Community Connection: We successfully managed the complex logistics for the VIPs to leave the main venue and visit two beneficiary households, allowing them to witness the project’s impact firsthand without a break in the schedule.

2. Production & Visual Impact
To match the importance of the occasion, we transformed a simple village site into a professional ceremonial venue.
- The Main Stage: A custom-designed stage served as the platform for key speeches, including the report by the plant owner, Mr. Tep Khunchhay, and welcoming remarks by Deputy Governor Mr. Nguon Reasey.
- Visual Storytelling: A 6m x 2.5m steel-structure backdrop provided a professional setting for media photos, ensuring every press shot highlighted the strong partnership between the Ministry and the Australian Government.
- Bespoke Layouts: Using our detailed 3D Layout Plans, we optimized the seating for 100+ participants, ensuring clear sightlines and easy movement for the VIP entourage.

3. Technical Precision
Communication was the heartbeat of this event.
- Simultaneous Interpretation: With speeches delivered in both Khmer and English, our Translation Booth and 100-headset distribution system ensured that H.E. Derek Yip’s remarks were understood by local residents, and local reports were clear to international guests.
- Audio Clarity: Our sound engineers managed a complex run-of-show, ensuring crystal-clear audio during the open-air ceremony.

4. Overcoming Remote Logistics
One of the distinct challenges of this event was its location. Unlike a hotel ballroom, Ruessie Laor Village required us to build the infrastructure from scratch.
- Power Independence: We deployed industrial-grade generators to guarantee uninterrupted power for the sound systems and cooling units, mitigating any risk of local grid failure.
- Sanitation & Comfort: Recognizing the needs of high-profile guests, we installed luxury mobile restrooms and managed a Morning Refreshment Box service featuring premium bakery items. This attention to comfort allowed the dignitaries to focus entirely on the agenda.
The Bigger Picture: A Milestone for Clean Water Access
While SAM INSPIRE focused on the seamless execution of the event logistics, the true star of the day was the project’s impact.
According to the Australian Embassy in Cambodia, this new climate-resilient system in Taing Kouk district is a massive step forward. The inauguration marked the official availability of safe water for:
- 10,000 local residents
- 4 Schools
- 1 Health Center
This project is part of a broader Australia-Cambodia partnership that has already helped over 1.2 million rural Cambodians access clean piped water, pushing the nation closer to its goal of universal clean water access by 2030.
We are proud that our event management services provided the platform for H.E. Hem Vanndy and Ambassador Derek Yip to celebrate these life-changing statistics and meet the local business owners who will benefit from this resource.
